I think I'm just blogging out of guilt at this point

So that extra gig I talked about in my last blog?  Well it almost killed me and it wrecked Christmas.
Maybe I'm being a little melodramatic, but I did the shoot on Thursday and by Saturday I was pretty much bedridden, having picked up something from someone on the set.  That was over a week ago, and today is the first day where I've felt "normal".
I, of course, passed it on to Michael and together - like the unified force that we are - we infected my mom over Christmas at my brother's.  My mom was supposed to host her side of the family today, but she was so sick she had to cancel.
Hi!  I'm patient zero.
Aside from that absolute debacle, Christmas at my brother's was great.  We all went out for all you can eat sushi in Abbotsford.  I was skeptical for sure, but it was really good.  Then we played games and stared at Declan for a really long time and crashed at a nearby hotel.
The next day we got to take Raja for a walk which was highly exciting for us as we're both dog lovers and we can't have a dog.  Then Andrea made her first ever Christmas dinner and it was fantastic.  We had an organic turkey breast, mashed potatoes, stuffing and broccoli salad: it was so good.  I'm 37 and I've never cooked a turkey or changed a diaper.
I've come a long way, baby.
I think my mom, brother and I agree that it was one of the best Christmases we've had in a long time.  Babies make everything more fun.
Here's a list of the other things that happened:
  • Frances Ha sucked, and it doesn't showcase elements of Woody Allen but also it's very boring
  • Kanye West continues to be awesome
  • I beat Michael at Gran Turismo
  • In addition to getting roped into being the Secretary Treasurer for our strata, I also now "run" the book club I'm in
  • Speaking of books, "Before I Go to Sleep" kept me up until 2am to get it finished.  It was fantastic
  • I'm getting married in five months
  • I picked a huuuuuge fight with my cousin who ultimately blocked me on Facebook and I'm increasingly of the mindset that, in fact, violence is the answer
  • Thomas M. Wright
That is all.

  1. I agree, nothing tells your true feelings like a punch in the throat. Turkey is the easiest thing in the world to cook, slam it in a pan and throw it in the oven for a couple of hours.

    1. With lyrics like "You ever ask your bitch for other bitches?" I am frankly surprised his recent album isn't a staple in everyone's musical library.

    2. Ok you've won me over. He truly is a modern day Tennyson.

    3. In all seriousness (and once you put his rampant ego and seemingly misogynistic viewpoints on the shelf for a moment), Yeezus is a really good album to listen. It's upped my workouts more than EPO ever could.

    4. What do your workouts consist of these days?

    5. For the past week I have been on a strict regiment of coughing (abs).
Prior to that it was alternating days of running and strength, with the occasional Jillian Michaels video thrown in. God she's scary.

    6. Dry heaving is an even better ab workout.

Oh Jillian.... Check out biggest loser australia for laughs.
