My day would be like this: get up at 7am and be on the road by 8am. Scream at assholes in traffic until 8:25am. Play with my electronic stapler from 8:30am until lunch time. Curse the jerkbag that made me a salad for lunch. Realize that I am the one who makes lunches. Try to untangle paper clips until second break. Fail at feigning interest when my coworkers talk about The Bachelor. Map out my evening run on Gmaps Pedometer. Spend and inordinate amount of time recycling my wastepaper bin. Get in my car at 5pm and scream at assholes in traffic until between 5:30 and 5:50pm while listening to Rich Terfry on Radio Two.
And that would be the first part of my day.
The next part would be the part where, having eaten half a Clif bar in the car I would come up to the apartment, dump my shit, put on my gear and either hit the gym, go to YoFit, or put on my running shoes and go for anywhere between 45 minutes and an hour and a half. Often, if I was running with the clinic, we would go for coffee afterwards which meant getting home after 8 o'clock, at which point I would start making dinner and lunches for the next day. TV? Not so much because I'm part of a book club and I needed that time to read.
Also add in: social obligations; getting baked occasionally; laundry; grocery shopping; paying bills; car maintenance; stupid shit you don't have time for (namely massage and physiotherapy); and blogging.
So, do I feel bad about watching threeThe Borgias on a random day? Not so much.
And, because I feel the need to justify what I've been doing, I will say that in the roughly six weeks that I have been unemployed (holy shit, did I ever take to unemployment like a hot damn) I spent about half of it in Penticton on two separate occasions, and I'm heading to Pender on Tuesday before taking off for Europe for five weeks.
Anyways, in addition to sweltering in the Okanagan, hooking up with friends and family, killing it at the gym, catching up on sleep, writing and reading a lot, and doing my first mediofondo, I went to my first autocross today.
See you over there. Heading out Friday.
