This is not where we had dinner tonight. |
It's funny: I've had people (cough: Typewriter) ask me to review their stuff before and it's been fairly terrible and yet I didn't want to say that because we had seen, or were in the process of seeing, each other naked.
That last paragraph didn't make much sense, come to think of it. I meant to say that I've seen Typewriter naked and his book was really not very good, and I've read other peoples' books and they were also not so great, but I haven't seen them naked.
Anyways, I've read R's book and it's fantastic and I've encouraged her to continue on with it, and yet she procrastinates.
I procrastinate too: full disclosure.
Anyways, her book is so, so close to completion that it sort of drives me nuts with a mixture of impatience and envy, but really the fundamental crux of the post is that I have that sort of drive and desire to write again, which comes with collaborating with a fellow creative writer.
Also, I can't figure out why our Apple Air system will only play like two or three songs from the Administrator play list before stopping.
It drives me fucking insane.
I wish that was where we were having dinner right now. And then every night ever thereafter.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I sometimes think that showing people my writing is more nerve-wracking than being in the process of seeing someone naked - you hope they'll overlook/not see the bits you don't love, and that they will totally worship all the bits you think are pretty OK.
So confusing.
Anyway, I'm going to get back to it, I swear!
