On the lam

First off: oh my god, my Crackberry is amazing. I am blogging on it now and it just keeps on surprising me with all the shit it can do. For example: it actually drove from Abbotsford to Hope this afternoon while I had a little nap.
But back to this whole on the lam thing: see, I am currently in Penticton for a couple of days of R&R before I meet up with my mother-in-law who lives here. Nothing against my in-laws, I just wanted a little me time (to celebrate my one month anniversary of marriage) before I head back to work.
The trip up was typical. Five hours of basically either street racing, or being stuck behind a tourist/rig/camper.
I just want to point out that I totally killed the funboys in their Audi between Langley and Chilliwack. I don't care what you drive. I have the skillz, son.
Penticton is nice, though. Checked in, read some In the Garden of Beasts on the beach and dozed a little. I still can't figure out Hitler's ascension to power and why the Americans were so spineless for so long. I guess I have more reading to do.
Went to Ginza Sushi and had a kick ass meal like I had last time. I must confess I was sort of like "Sushi? In the desert?" but lo, it is so good.
It's beautiful here. I love it. I can't believe people live here full-time. Cor.
That said, the hordes of terrible tourists have yet to fully descend on this little town, so it still retains it's small-town feel.
UPDATE: the blinking red light on my phone means I have some sort of message. I like it. I initially thought I just had a really festive phone.
Well, that's all the news for today.
Why are you making me go back to work?

  1. I'm sad that you have to go back to work too. I was living vicariously.

  2. I am lucky to have had this year. I come away with it with a lot of great travel, a wonderful husband, and the desire to work really hard to retire ASAP!!
