I missed the continental breakfast this morning because I didn't sleep so great last night. Even had another work nightmare! Yay!
Went for a nice 10k along the canal and then just got totally caught up in hotel tv like I sometimes do.
See: I don't have TLC and this show? Four Weddings? Blew my fucking, tiny mind. One couple spent 80k on their wedding. I don't understand this whole complex. At this time and place in our economic and environmental landscape, really?
Who are these people?
Michael and I likened it to high end cars: sure, I get a hard on for certain Lexus', but maybe I will rent one one weekend. I couldn't rationally justify the extra years of work it would take to own one. It's a car.
I guess the point is that I am just stymied by this whole wedding bent. I thought (like religion) that maybe it was over.
Apparently not.

But back to cars and affordable things. Currently there is an EPIC show and shine here: on the main drag all the parking spaces have been taken over by vintage cars. I'm a bit of a buff, and it's nice to see a community come together like this over a collective interest.
I used to want a fourth generation Tbird. And a Fastback. Now I want a Lexus IS250 because I started driving when I was fourteen, my dad dropped me at school on a motorcycle, my bother races cars and motorcycles, and I had that Supra that one time. I may or may not have gotten the Civic up to 134k on the way up.
Where was I going with this? Oh yes: cars, like weddings (and boats) are a total waste of money.
Fun, cheap things I did today: buy some Liberte yogurt for breakfasts/snacks (have you had this????? OMFG); go for a run; inspect people's mid life crises; eat a phenomenal cheap, vegan meal at The Wild Scallion; and listen to Radio Moka on my new Crackberry.
The things that people want and feel like they NEED just blows my mind. My dad use to say "want in one hand and shit in the other, see which one fills up first." I don't think I need much, as I sit here watching a show about $40M homes on Discovery. Hubby even asked if I thought I could live in a Tiny House. I said sure! but I would have to have room for my KitchenAid Mixer, my Cuisinart Food processor, my Omega juicer and a washer and dryer... I don't like going to the laundry. Hmmm, maybe he's planning on moving me out.....
ReplyDeleteLOL. You guys are so funny. I hope he's not giving you the boot. ;)
DeleteOur place is 620 square feet, so we are in the tiny house range. No wonder I had to take off for a few days, LOL.
