3, 6, 9 you drink wine

If you haven't seen "Source Code" and "Looper", I can't recommend them enough.  It was a little odd that in the last two days of the year we saw a couple of the best movies of the year.  They're both Sci-Fi which I normally don't love unless they're excellently done.
They're excellently done.  (Also, it reminds me that I did a top ten hottest guys list once and Jake Gyllenhaal was on it.  He's still on it.  I'm also too tired to do a top ten list currently, so I'll shorten it to a top three list and it currently consists of: Jake Gyllenhaal; Jay Harrington; and Dan Mangan.)
Today I slept while Michael ran 13 miles.  Damnit but that sounds tiring.
Allow me to reiterate: long distance running is for jerks.
Went to physio Monday and I'm not allowed to run for another week.  This is likely because the last time I was in she told me not to run but I couldn't help and so I ran back to back days on the treadmill and - surprise! - my SI joints were effed up again.  I do not do well with inactivity.
Then we went for a walk in Lynn Valley park and for dinner at White Spot at like 4:30pm because WE ALWAYS DO THAT.  We are going to make very excellent seniors.
In other news, Michael has the next couple of days off which makes me angry and also happy because I ended up with a dead battery the other day and had to call BCAA (who subsequently sent me an online survey about my emotional experience surrounding said dead battery and the survey was created by the company that I used to work for back in the day when I was called "Boots" and so yeah, that was kind of weird) and they gave me a jump and we went for a drive to charge the battery, but the fuckery of it is that it somehow reset my radio and now I can't get it or the CD player to play unless I enter in a code.  Like, really?  I remember Big D telling me about this exact same thing and thinking he must have one hell of a high end car that it needs a code to get the radio to work if the battery is ever disconnected, but apparently that's not the case.
Anyways.  Day one of the new year seems to have gone well so I hope the rest of the year follows suit.
I aim to drink less, write more and to try and practice some of the mindfulness exercises my therapist recommended for me back in the day when I became emotionally distraught when it came to things like tying my shoes and smiling.
Lastly, here is a video that I took inadvertently today.  Seriously.  I thought I was just taking pictures but apparently I was taping the whole thing.  The end bit of the video is me just adjusting my camera's settings and then taking pictures because technology baffles me and makes me cry.
Additionally: Happy New Year!  I hope this year brings all your hopes and dreams to fruition, and also keeps taxes at a reasonable rate while still contributing to the arts.

  1. Car radio technology makes me sad. I can't even change the clock, so I don't. I love the video. I was surprised to see that it was an assortment of videos and not just one.

    1. LOL. I bought my car in April I think, and it took me until a couple of days ago to figure out how to reset the trip odometer to zero.
And because I hate driving without a radio, I took Michael's car to work today. ;)

    1. No, not yet. Hopefully I can carve out some time tonight to try and sit still for an extended period of time. A solid eight minutes should make me super zen for sure.
