This weekend I didn't do anything. As in wear pajamas until the early to mid afternoon, watch golf, sleep until it was no longer morning, read for endless hours nothing. I didn't exercise at all (okay: that's bad).
But I did drive down to Marine Drive to cheer for Michael on the last leg of his solo 15 mile run this weekend. He was very surprised to see me. And I was very surprised to see him because this run, which we have done together numerous times, is called the "Two Hours to Taylor's Crossing" run. This is because we always aim to be at this certain pub on Marine Drive by the two hour mark.
On Sunday Michael left for his run at 3pm while I had my shower and headed up to tidy my condo (fingers crossed for tomorrow's second showing to the same person) and then I headed down to that pub to wait for him on the sidewalk. I was there maybe quarter to five and a bit tired so I thought that I would grab a coffee at the Starbucks. I decided against it in case there was a line up or something, and how horrible would it be if I missed him because I was getting my caffeine fix?
Good thing I didn't get a coffee because a few minutes later I see him running along the sidewalk in record time! To hell with two hours to Taylor's Crossing: he was there in an hour and 46 minutes!
After he got home and recovered a bit we went downtown to Guu, a Japanese tapas restaurant that I've been wanting to try for ages. It was a Sunday night and there was still a lineup. It's a small, cozy space punctuated by yelling chefs and wait staff and small, innovative and very flavourful dishes. I really liked it, but it was more of a late, Saturday night vibe than a Sunday night one, and we were situated right at the bar, so it made for a bit stilted conversation. I would certainly go back though, or try one of their other locations.
It was a nice weekend. I think forced inactivity (physical and social) was good for me. Sleeping is a nice concept, also.
Fingers crossed that I get an offer on my condo tomorrow.
Great photo.
