We slept until noon today. What? Who does that? Earlier in the week we had talked about trying some of the interurban bike trails in Burnaby or Richmond and today it wasn't raining and so Michael got our bikes ready and we headed out over the Lionsgate bridge which was colossally fucked due to an accident. I get such perverse pleasure when I rocket down the causeway on my bike while people seethe and squirm in their cars. When I am seething and squirming in my car I hate the cyclists that fly past me. I'm multi-faceted like that.
So we biked through downtown and got onto to Adanac and - after 12 kilometres decided it was definitely time for a break and so we stopped for something to eat and drink at the Union Market. Michael gave me some money and told me to go buy myself something pretty so I got a granola bar and a Pellegrino. He then goes in and come back with his hands full of food. I laughed and said "Whoa, buddy! How far are we going today?" and a guy at the table next to us asked how far we'd come. I said not far enough. It actually was good that Michael tucked an extra couple of granola bars into his bag because we had an epic day.
I will also point out that this is the first time on my bike this year. I will also say thank you to my brother-in-law Kevin, for giving me padded bike shorts for Christmas last year.
