And I spilled Gatorade on my shorts today

Sunday morning.  Oh.  Hangover says what now?
Michael insisted we go to Denny's.  I have a lot of vegetarian tendencies so it wasn't my choice, really, but vacations are vacations.  We waited in line for a long time before getting a seat and I was getting kind of hungry and there was a rather perplexing cutlery shortage, and I waited for Michael to order the steak and eggs and poutine eggs benedict with pancakes as he had been so excited at the concept of Denny's (Denny's: where we put the word "slam" after everything).  Anyways, he ordered the "fit slam" or something equally moronic and I had a veggie burger which was fairly terrible and left me to wonder why did we go to restaurant renowned for it's absolutely unhealthy menu and expect to have an enjoyable and healthy meal?  Food for thought.
Equally stupid: we pulled up an 8 mile run in the heat of the day (it was closing in on 90 degrees in the shade).  That got most of the hangover out.  I love Penticton.  It's seriously one of the more beautiful places I've ever been.  It's a totally different environment from what we have on the west coast and also they have mini donuts.
Showered, went up for dinner at Michael's mom's and?  And?  They pass the baby to me.  I haven't held a baby since I was in my teens.  They scare me.  They cry.  They poop and vomit and they sense fear.  Anyways, I have this kid for like twenty minutes.  She loves me.  She's fun, little Ava.  Don't tell anyone that I said that.
After visiting Michael and I wandered down to the Rock the Peach fest and caught yet some more country music: Ronnie Dunn of Brooks and Dunn.  Blah..  The tickets were really steep and so, as it was like twenty minutes before closing I was going to ask if we could just go in for the last little bit but then... yeah, no.  We tried to figure out what the last song was as we were walking away.  For the longest time we thought it was "Cowgirls on Fire" and then we realized it was "Cowgirls Gone Wild".  So close and yet who cares.
I then proceeded to eat many mini doughnuts and ice cream, we walked into the lake and I traipsed sand all over our room and into the bed.

  1. I love your vacation posts, and you go on lots of them. Is this something that's mandated in your country? Another thing, nobody eats at Denny's except truck drivers! Are you crazy? You'll probably have diarrhea in 48 hours. I guess the open road made Michael feel like a trucker, or he was drunk.

  2. Ha: I wish vacations were mandated! We were only gone for the weekend (plus Monday). Not nearly long enough.
    And yes - I think we've learned our lesson with Denny's. ;)
