Did my typical running around today: gym; grocery shop; massage. Also met up with R for lunch. "Lunch" went from about 2pm until 5pm. I love lunches like that. I love connecting with people and having honest, open, frank conversations. I think it is quite possibly one of my most favourite things ever. Interesting people are inspiring and I am actually emotionally buoyed by them.
Am currently ripping as much music as I can cram onto an 8 gig stick to send to an esteemed reader in Japan. I feel like a right fork biter for not getting this out sooner since she has sent me two wonderful tranches of music and I didn't take the time to return the favour. Bad etiquette. No wonder I got two rock chips in my windshield.
Anyways, I use iTunes which is notoriously not sharing-friendly and so I went to my apartment to paw through my CDs and I do have a nice collection. Nothing really dance/rave friendly, but a lot of great Canadian music, and some indie and alternative stuff. Doug and the Slugs would be the highlight. Oh yes, I am a Vancouver girl.
Had a great conversation with Big D wherein it was established that this will be our year. Forward looking. Having learned from the past. Wanting to do right for ourselves and for others.
It's good.
I feel good.
Happy, even.
Day by day, right?
I like Doug and the Slugs!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for some new music.
Thank you so much.
Your post made me laugh while I was retaining and I nearly covered the prefecture in coffee.
;)
LOL. It's amazing how much can fit onto the stick. I'm having fun putting it all together. I'm hoping to get it the mail to you on Friday!
ReplyDeleteHallso: insofar as electronica is concerned - you should check out Freerange Records. Me gusta mucho.
Eating and drinking with friends is the best. I've had two wonderful lengthy meals this week. Saturday with my Brother and his bride and tonight with a bunch of former co-workers. Mediterranean food, mmmmm the best hummus and babaganoush (I know that's not spelled correctly) and some REALLY weird looking meat sticks. But it was great and the company was great.
ReplyDeleteDoug and the Slugs are pretty good too.
Yeah, some of the best times/meals I've had have gone on for hours. I love it. And I love hummus too!
ReplyDeleteAre you still working? If not come on down for lunch. I'll take the day off and we'll hang out at Brio until happy hour starts.
ReplyDeleteDay by day
ReplyDeleteyou help me make my way.
When no one's looking I'm gonna give you a great big hug.
