White people problems.
Do we become a one car family again?
I need to re-insure my car.
I gotta get my keys to the caretaker so he can let the guy in that checks the fire alarms.
I'm not sure I want to fly straight from YVR to London, so I'm thinking about staying in Montreal for a couple of nights, to make up for the cafe night life that I missed when I was there in October 2011.
Michael and I are thinking of doing a bike tour in the Burgundy region in September.
I seriously just said that.
And then we'll continue on to Berlin.
Yeah: I just said that too.
Hey: why is okay for either kids just fresh out of high school or retirees to say these things, but not me? You have to be either 19 or 65 to go to Europe?
Fuck that for a box of soldiers.
The rest of the weekend was super lame thanks to a really rather vicious bout of endometriosis.
On the flip side: Michael cleaned the condo! But to pay for this, I basically spent most of Sunday and Monday in bed, which I'm really pissed about. I don't get a lot of three day weekends with Michael, and I guess this was no exception. We had planned on doing a 50k bike ride, which went by the wayside, and he spent most of the weekend alone while I writhed under the bed covers. It's been a long time since I've been hit this hard.
We did get out for a nice walk along Ambleside last night, and then watched "The Silver Lining Playbook" (have you seen this movie? did I miss something? was it not simply average at best?). Tonight we met up with a friend for a couple of beers and, just like that, another weekend is over.
I have 18 work days left.
My cousin and I have the same nose and smile lines around our mouths. I'm still pleasantly surprised by our outing together and hope we do it again, sooner rather than later.
I'm sorry you felt so shitty this weekend. I think that one at least is a "need some prescription painkillers" problem. As for going off and biking and travelling (and both at the same time)...do it! At 19 all you appreciate about Europe is the bar scene, and at 65 you end up stuck on a damn bus all day while someone talks at you over a PA. Go now and do it the way you want AND appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteOh, and that's a great picture of you and your cousin. :)
ReplyDeleteYep, a bike tour in the Burgundy region it will be!
ReplyDeleteUpdate: I can't count. After today's work day (May 22nd) I actually have 19 days of work left.
ReplyDeleteThat figure remains open to interpretation.
