Things I ponder

My workplace is otherwordly.  I could try and explain to you the insanity that unfurls on a daily basis but: a) you would think I am making it up; b) you wouldn't be able to comprehend it; or c) you would think I am being histrionic.

Anyways, a couple of people have suggested that I create a blog just to detail the goings on here, and I think I shall do, eventually.  I needs to be shared with the world, then picked up by Fox and made into a series that will enable me to gracefully exit stage left - taking Michael with me.

In the interim, I did promise myself that I would stay a year at the minimum.  The shortest job I ever held was for two years and the longest: six.  I really did have high hopes for this place.  I enjoy the walk to work.  I enjoy the philanthropic aspect of it.  I love the four day work week.  That's pretty much where it stops.

Five months to go.

  1. I would love to hear about the real world. I guess my work world is so bizarre to real world people. People are always surprised to hear the stories about life at a public school. For example: Bitter Divorce Dad comes to pick up his daughter from school. We were told to notify the Principal if he ever shows up on campus because of the YouTube video he made of a meeting with her that he sent to the School Board. We tell the Principal she gets paranoid runs to check his custody papers, delaying him from picking up his child. This is the good part, he asks for us to reimburse him for the 7 minutes that he had to wait for his daughter. I guess I'm going to have to have a jar full of extra time in the lounge and a stack of Dixie Cups for him. Fucking ass hole!
