So, possible anemia and then some white blood count weirdness that I am assuming is only an issue if I get a phone call from my doctor's office. This girl needs more steaks, it appears.
Had an interview at a job that I would actually like to get, but again I am over qualified, so I think that's dead in the water.
Feeling a bit out of sorts these days. I mean, what's the point of all, really? I spend so much time watching Netflix, running on a fucking treadmill to nowhere and cooking healthy meals for no apparent reason.
In that vein: getting into Twin Peaks. I didn't get it when it first came out because I was like 13, but at 37 its fairly hilarious. Certainly a different genre that had ever existed before.
Moreover though, is Derek. It's a Netflix Original, and if you haven't seen it? You're missing out. It kills me every time and it's just the absolute antithesis to shit, trite television. I usually end up crying over it, but it's amazingly poignant and true and funny and beautiful. One of the best things I've ever watched. I love Ricky Gervais for The Office, but Derek really showcases his humanity and his sensitivity.
Anyways. We're around and sentient for maybe 80 years and I'm spending my 37th year doing SFA (though I really shouldn't say SFA because I went to Europe for five weeks, visited Pender, did a Medio Fondo in Penticton, got engaged and am getting married in May).
Right. More exercise and more red meat is in order. Less Dostoyevsky, Hemingway and Come Dine With Me.
I'll have to check that out. I'm on Spring Break next week, going to wear Netflix out. We're currently watching An Idiot Abroad. It's Jody to a T! He hates travel. I told him he needs to watch it because his new job will eventually send him packing. Oh it's the year to quit your job at our house, he told TI to kiss it! Bump up the Merlot when you have that steak, that's what keeps me going. Tenderloins and Merlot 2-3 times a week.
ReplyDeleteI tried to watch An Idiot Abroad, but his dislike of travel was too hard for me to take. I love travel so much!
ReplyDeleteWow, lots of shake ups in your house over the past year, eh? Are you guys in a happier place? I hope so.
That's what makes it so funny, we see so many similarities in Jody. In the end the 'Idiot' guy ends up liking that he went to the places they send him. Yeah they make him go to some weird places and do some weird things and that's a bit cruel. OMG, we are both so much better off, and our home life is much calmer too. We've both learned when you aren't feeling it and you dread going to the job then it's time to find something else and sometimes not having a job at all is motivation to get out there and find something.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'm so glad for this new chapter in your lives. :)
