Hi, from (right next to) the Olympic Village!
Rolled in to Vancouver on Sunday and met Big D at his place before sauntering over to Seb's for brunch. Scrambled (free range!) eggs with smoked salmon, pan fries, fruit, toast with home made preserves and organic coffee. No wonder I'm getting fat.
Went back to my mom's place and dragged my bike out and went to UBC, more or less doing the same route Michael and I had done on Saturday (minus the bit where I had to come from and return to the North Shore).
Met up with C for dinner at Earls. He's always hoping for beautiful waitresses and so, of course, we ended up with a somewhat slow - but tall and pretty - male server. You know when you can actually see the cogs in someone's head turning? He was that guy.

After physio, Michael and I went to Coral Court for lunch. If you live on the North Shore and you like Szechuan, I don't think you can do much better than Coral Court. Before I switched over to cruelty-free meat I would consume vast quantities of their ginger beef. OMG so good. Today I had a ginger and garlic eggplant dish: excellent. Lunch (enough to feed me for tomorrow too) included won ton soup and was $7.50. I can't get over that. My two tiny fish tacos at Earls last night were like $14 and they were good, but not great.
Decided to go for yet another bike ride when I got back to my mom's place today. I was born in Vancouver and lived in Vancouver proper for many years and I don't know what it was about today, maybe it was the Indian summer we seem to be having or perhaps I'm ODing on too much vitamin D but, as I was biking through False Creek I thought "if I didn't live here, I would pay to vacation here".

I have such a blessed life, and I'm not just saying that because Felix has only puked once so far, or because my mom left me some top notch wine and also made home made frozen dinners for me for the duration of my stay, or because "Coast Modern" is going to be on the Knowledge Network in a couple of minutes and this is the film that Michael and I had wanted to go see at the VIFF a few months ago.
Best. Day. Ever.
