I had slated us to be on the road by 7am, but we got down to the car at 7.30 and... it wouldn't start. Clearly my horseshoe was malfunctioning. I thought it was the starter motor. And it was raining. Grrrr. Michael had the great idea to get a BCAA membership instead of just towing it to a shop and it was $90 well spent as, after registering online for it and then calling them, a truck was on site within five minutes and we were on the road five minutes after that (flooded gas tank due to a low battery). I couldn't believe how quickly we were on our way.
Penticton was great. I cut a lot of my hair off. Michael hates it but tries to like it because he's kind. We ate so well at his family's place and, as always, it's nice to spend time with family. Michael often tells me that I am lucky to live so close to my family and it's true. We are a tight family and I would hate for them to be a five hour drive (or more) away.
In 31 years, hubby and I have only lived close to family 3 years of that time. We've always lived at least 4 hours away. Living in Memphis was the worst... 805 miles is a hell of a drive. I really don't know what it's like to live close to family.
