On why I love Michael

The other night, apparently, I managed to steal all the bed covers.  Michael tried to snuggle up next to me for body heat.  Normally this is something I do.  I asked him why he didn't just wrench the covers over to his side and he said it was because he didn't want to wake me.
Today he had a bad day at work while I spent most of the day surfing the net and looking at engagement rings.  Christ I hope none of my coworkers read this.  Anyways, if you have any questions about indie, artisan engagement rings let me know: I am well versed.  So I told him about all of my stupid findings and about Moissanite and how I mocked up an engagement ring similar to one of my friends' but for a fraction of the cost and then was like "yay, I just created a cheap version of the thing I am rallying against!".  I showed him some vintage Art Deco and Art Nouveau rings which were really cool but, because of their sometimes odd structure, you can't put a wedding band next to it.
Blah blah blah, he says "where are the indie jewellers in Vancouver?" and I said "I've seen a lot of great stuff at Granville Island" and he comes back with "did you want to go there this weekend?".  What?  Yes. I would love to.  But I feel myself getting sucked into the whole engagement/wedding vortex and it's not who I am and, furthermore, it's not something that I would ever want to foist upon Michael even though - for reasons that escape me - he seems willing.
He is currently out in the cold picking up sushi for us.
I love him so much.

  1. Yep, he's a keeper for sure! I didn't take you for a engagement ring kind of chic. Are you turning into one of those "monkey with his hand in a jar" kind of girls?

p.s I agree with Judith. Are you currently possessed?

  3. I know, right? I'm creeping myself out. I have an obsessive personality: what can I say?
We'll see what I end up with. But probably I should focus more on the task at hand: being a good girlfriend. ;)
