You don't want to know.
You want to know?
It's terrible.
I looked for engagement rings.
It started out rather harmlessly but then I found that there is this whole indie, eco friendly faction that uses recycled materials and ethically mined and traded stones. I really like Turtle Love Co., they have some really nice things.
It's funny: heretofore I was thinking about getting whatever ring I wanted but then doing it in cubic zirconia because I think that would be funny. And now, after looking at so many really unique and individual styles on Etsy, the thought of a Tiffany or Birks knock off makes me feel queasy.

I don't even want a diamond, in fact. I have two diamond rings. They're nice, and they are unique compared to what is out there, but why is diamond king? Scarcity? The brutal working conditions? The endless pursuit for something flawless?
Anyways.
Someone should most likely punch me in the ovaries now. I haaaaaaate when I do stupid shit like this.
Oooh! Shiny!
Another thing that happened today was that I didn't get engaged.
Oh, you've got what the hubby calls the "monkey with his fist in a jar" look in your eye! I'm not that into diamonds either. I only have a tennis bracelet that has diamonds. No rings. I like color, bright color. I do like that first ring. My wedding band is wide like the second one, if you tend to have sweaty hands or you find yourself in wet conditions, wide bands can be a bother. Moisture collects under them, some people end up with a skin irritation.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have a thick band with diamonds on it and whenever I wash my hands (which is once a week whether I need it or not) I have to take the ring off and dry my finger. Then I always think I've left my ring somewhere.
ReplyDeleteWoe is me and my diamond ring story, eh? ;)
you didn't get engaged either? ME TOO!
ReplyDeleteI just have the broken car. STELLAR.
LOL.
ReplyDeleteThose facking Ridouts. ;)
