The last time I saw my nephew he was maybe a month old and his neck muscles weren't developed and he scared the shit out of me.
Speaking of shit: this kid poops like a professional. Oh my god. And the grunting and smiling that accompanies it? Amazing. Quite the performance.
Well, now the wee baby Seamus is holding up his own head and so I was more inclined to hold him which I still suck at, but I'm trying.
He's such a good baby. He's much more entertaining than Sudoku. I like him a lot. I'm glad that Michael said he was one helluva good looking baby, because I thought maybe I was being a bit precious, but no: this kid is gorgeous.
It was a really fun afternoon getting to know the wee baby.
I am so happy my brother and his partner created such an amazing little guy.
Babies are scary... November is fast approaching...
ReplyDeleteJust avoid any contact with them until their necks aren't floppy and that whole weird "soft spot" disappears.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that will be totally copacetic with your wife.
Kids in general are scary! The whole birthing thing is scary. Then the neck floppy, soft spot on the head, choking on spit, can't tell you why they are crying thing is scary. Then they start talking back and tell you they have a boyfriend or girlfriend! That's scary... but wait, they start driving and then they start going out and then they start drinking. Terrifying!!!! So.... you just start stocking up on wine. Don't let your brother see this, he needs to go into it blind like everyone else.
ReplyDeleteBTW that baby looks like he's crying in that picture, were you giving off insecure vibes?
