How fucking much does sound proofing cost, anyways??

In New York again. NY is such a cool city. We are staying in Chinatown this time, but made it back to Mooncake for dinner and wandered around lower Manhattan for a whole. The weather is great and, though I love Boston like crazy, it was nice to physically move on and start to put this terrible, shocking tragedy behind us.
I do want to mention the One Fund, which has been created to help the victims of the bombings: Michael and I will both be donating. We are fortunate to live in a country where, for the cost of one dinner out a month, our trips to the hospital, surgeries and doctor's visits are free.
Anyways, we have a really loud and chatty lady next to us on the phone and, we're I in Vancouver I would knock on her door and tell her to STFU, except I don't want to get shot and also, as Michael pointed out: it is the fault of the hotel, and not necessarily the fault of the young lady who wants to talk to her besties about... something... really bloody loudly.
Same deal at the Gilded Lily in Boston. Could've been a five star review, but I could only sleep when the elephants above me were sleeping.
I guess the moral of the story is that I should move to a remote gulf island.
Tomorrow we are checking out Hoboken, which should be fun.
Also: congratulations to my brother and Andrea on the birth of their healthy baby boy, as yet unnamed.
I've seen the picture: awesomest. baby. ever.

  1. Maybe you could ask the young lady to talk more quietly, but offer her some door slamming privileges to make up for it? ;-)

Glad you're both enjoying NY though! It's a fun city.

  2. LOL, Renee I like that! If I were not positive that my daughter were in Phoenix I'd say that could be her on the phone next door, she's really loud! She was reprimanded in the last haunted hotel she stayed in, turns out she wasn't even in her room when the TV was blaring and the tenants were complaining. The ghost did it. She's still loud. Congrats on the nephew!
